2015 International Emmy® Awards Winners Announced

French Programs Lead with 3 Wins in the Arts Programming, Drama Series and TV Movie/Mini-Series Categories Followed by 2 Wins for Brazilian Programs in the Comedy and Telenovela Categories

 

NEW YORK, November 23, 2015 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the 43rd International Emmy® Awards tonight at a Gala event attended by over 1000 international television professionals and hosted by Egyptian Comedian Bassem Youssef at the New York Hilton.

2 Special Awards and 10 Emmy statues were presented by the International Academy during the evening.

French programs led the night with 3 Emmys in the Arts Programming, Drama Series and TV Movie/Mini-Series categories followed by Brazilian programs with 2 Emmys in the Comedy and Telenovela categories.

Performances from Norway (Best Performance by an Actress), the Netherlands (Best Performance by an Actor), and programs from South Africa (Documentary), the United Kingdom (Non-Scripted Entertainment) and the United States (Non-English US Primetime Program), each won one Emmy. Academy Award winning Actor and Producer Michael Douglas presented the International Emmy Directorate Award to Richard Plepler, Chairman & CEO of HBO.

Academy Award and Emmy nominated actress Elizabeth McGovern who currently stars as Lady Cora in Downton Abbey and the show’s Emmy and BAFTA Award winning Executive Producer Gareth Neame presented the International Emmy Founders Award to Academy Award & Emmy Award Winner Julian Fellowes, Creator, Writer and Executive Producer of Downton Abbey.

The 10 International Emmy Award Winning programs and performances are: Illustre & Inconnu: Comment Jacques Jaujard a Sauvé le Louvre (The Man Who Saved the Louvre) (Arts Programming), Maarten Heijmans (Best Performance by an Actor), Anneke von der Lippe (Best Performance by an Actress), Doce de Mae (Sweet Mother) (Comedy), Miners Shot Down (Documentary), Spiral Season 5 (Engrenages) (Drama Series), Arrepentidos – El Infierno de Montoya (Non-English Language US Primetime Program), 50 Ways to Kill Your Mammy Non-Scripted Entertainment), Império (Empire) (Telenovela), and Soldat Blanc (White Soldier) (TV Movie/Mini-Series). 2015 International Emmy® Awards Presenters Announced

New York, November 11, 2015 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced today its line-up of celebrity presenters for the upcoming International Emmy® Awards, on Monday, November 23 at the Hilton New York, hosted by Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef.

Academy Award winning Actor and Producer Michael Douglas will present the International Emmy Directorate Award to Richard Plepler, Chairman & CEO of HBO.

Host Bassem Youssef will be joined on stage by a cast of presenters including to date: The Bold and The Beautiful’s Karla Mosley; The Blacklist’s Mozhan Marnò; The Americans’ Holly Taylor; Madam Secretary’s/The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2’s Patina Miller; The Walking Dead’sTovah Feldshuh; Filipino award winning Film and TV actor Piolo Pascual; Brazilian Actress/Producer Leandra Leal; Portuguese Actor Lourenço Ortigão and German comedian Anke Engelke.
