WINNERS ANNOUNCED FOR INTERNATIONAL EMMY® KIDS AWARDS @MIPTV
6 Winners Span 5 Countries: Australia, Japan, Norway, The Netherlands & The United Kingdom
Cannes/MIPTV, April 5, 2016 – The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced tonight the winners of the 4th International Emmy® Kids Awards which took place for the first time at MIPTV, in Cannes, in partnership with Reed MIDEM.
Winning programs from Australia, Japan, Norway, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom are: Nowhere Boys Series 2 (Kids: Series); Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter (Kids: Animation); Best i Mest (All-Round Champion) (Kids: Non-Scripted Entertainment); Rabarber (Rhubarb) (Kids: TV Movie/Mini-Series ); My Life: I Am Leo (Kids: Factual) and Bing (Kids: Pre-School). “Producers of children’s programming have a great responsibility towards their viewers and the broader audience and we are honored to be recognizing and showcasing the world’s best at MIPTV,” said International Academy President, Bruce L. Paisner. “We congratulate all the winners for their outstanding achievements and for setting the high-quality standard we all expect for kids.”
The Emmy® statues were presented on stage by an international cast of TV and digital personalities and character mascots including: YouTuber Cyrina Fiallo, Quebec comedian Cathleen Rouleau, Miss SupraNational Stephania Stegman, co-presenting with Majid Entertainment’s animation character Amoona, German pre-school character Die Maus from WDR’s The Program with The Mouse and actor Gil Ofarim from WDR’s kid’s series Arman’s Secret and Jeemtv soccer mascot Saham.
200 international industry executives attended the event, held at the Carlton Hotel, in Cannes, France during MIPTV.
The International Emmy® Kids Awards presenting partners are: Shaw Rocket Fund, Jeemtv, WDR mediagroup, Majid Entertainment, TV Kids, Ernst & Young and Kids@MIPTV.
