JANA BENNETT, DIRECTOR OF BBC VISION, JOINS EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS & SCIENCES
NEW YORK, February 16, 2010 – Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences today announced that Jana Bennett, Director of BBC Vision has been appointed to The Academy’s Executive Committee. As Director of BBC Vision, Bennett heads the BBC Television channels and leads the program commissioning teams.

Jana Bennett is in charge of BBC Television: BBC One, Two, Three, Four, HD and the Children’s services, CBBC and CBeebies. She sets the budget, commissioning and program priorities across all the channels. In addition, she oversees the groups that commission and produce drama, comedy, entertainment and factual programs, including digital media for online content. Jana also heads BBC Films, a leading funder of the film industry in Britain. In addition, she has overall responsibility for BBC Archive Content and editorial management of UKTV and BBC America.
