SOPHIE TURNER LAING, CEO OF ENDEMOL SHINE GROUP & TRAILBLAZING INDUSTRY LEADER TO BE RECOGNIZED WITH 2018 INTERNATIONAL EMMY® DIRECTORATE AWARD

New York, July 2, 2018 – Sophie Turner Laing , CEO of Endemol Shine Group will receive the International Academy’s 2018 Directorate Emmy® Award, it was announced today by Bruce L. Paisner, President & CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. The International Academy’s Special Emmy will be presented to Turner Laing at the 46th International Emmy® Awards Gala, on Monday, November 19, in New York City.

Turner Laing overseas Endemol Shine Group’s network of more than 120 creative production companies in 23 markets, responsible for global hits including Big Brother, MasterChef, Peaky Blinders and Black Mirror and last year producing in over 50 languages.

Before taking up her current role in 2014, Turner Laing held a number of senior positions at Sky in the UK, including Managing Director, Content. Before joining Sky, she served in a variety of roles at the BBC including Acting Director of Television. Turner Laing began her career in the global market place, first with Henson International Television before jointly setting up HIT Entertainment in 1989.
